Lady - Olive Nwosu (writer / director)

Congratulations to our alumna Olive Nwosu whose feature film debut Lady is selected to premiere in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and received the Special Jury Award for Acting Ensemble. Lady is written and directed by Olive, who was born in Lagos, Nigeria and is now based in London. The film follows a female cab driver in Lagos whose life shifts when she crosses paths with a spirited group of women navigating the city’s nightlife. Congratulations to Olive on this major achievement and for bringing her powerful storytelling to one of the most prestigious stages in independent cinema. The film also received its European premiere at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival.

In the documentary section, our alumni are also represented with The Lake (Special Jury Award: Impact for Change) and Time and Water (both produced by Caitlin Mae Burke), as well as Jane Elliot Against The World (produced by Elena Gaby and Max Powers)

We are also happy to share that Without Kelly, shot by our alumna Christine Leuhusen and winner of the Best Short Film award in the Orizzonti Short Films International Competition at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, is selected for the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. In addition, the short film Pankaja, color graded by our alumnus Aaryaman Kutty, is part of the Short Film Competition at Sundance, marking another outstanding achievement for our alumni community.

Anuja nominated for Best Live Action Short Film

We’re thrilled to share that Anuja, a film featuring the incredible contributions of Prague Film School alumni, was nominated for the Oscars 2025 in the Best Live Action Short Film category! The team includes Ksheetij Saini as Producer, Assistant Director and VFX Artist, Akash Raje as Cinematographer, Siddharth Gadhia as 1st Assistant Camera, Laura Salagnac as Director’s Assistant, and Aaryaman Kutty as Colourist. Their remarkable work showcases the talent and dedication of our graduates, and we couldn’t be prouder!

PFS alumni work streaming on Netflix in 2025 - Chasing the Wind (Engin Erden) - Black Mirror: Hotel Reverie (Haolu Wang)

We’re proud to share that Rüzgara Bırak (Chasing the Wind), the latest work by one of our alumni from Turkey, Engin Erden, is now streaming globally on Netflix.

We’re also excited to see our alumna Haolu Wang directing the episode Hotel Reverie in the seventh season of Black Mirror, now streaming on Netflix as well. After completing her studies at Prague Film School, Haolu went on to graduate from London’s NFTS and has since been directing premium work for British television.

Filmmaking Program Overview

Prague Film School filmmaking programs provide foundation training and specialization studies in the areas of screenwriting, directing, cinematography and post-production. Combining lectures and practical work in the classroom with an intensive production load outside of class, Prague Film School inculcates the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to make quality films.

Acting for Film Program Overview

The Prague Film School Acting for Film Program offers an intensive, conservatory style curriculum instructing both the art and the craft of acting for the camera. While the vast majority of acting courses world-wide train students for theater, it’s actually screen acting that offers the bulk of career opportunities. It’s also screen acting that allows actors to engage with the largest audiences, across time and geography.

Documentary Film Program Overview

The Documentary Film Program at Prague Film School aims at creating the independent documentary filmmaker. Through intensive practical and theoretical work, each student learns how to adapt the narrative tools of drama to tell truthful stories about the real world that simultaneously entertain, educate and inspire audiences. The course is designed to develop professional-level production and post production skills.

Prague Film School trains aspiring filmmakers and actors to become film professionals. This is accomplished through a praxis-heavy curriculum involving each student in up to 30 productions annually, many of which end up in the Industry’s top film festivals.

The prevailing ethos of Prague Film School is a mix of European art-house and American independent cinemas. Up to 100 filmmakers annually enroll, drawn from the best schools around the globe and from a wide range of professions and backgrounds.
